Many Americans Have Non-degree Credentials

Twenty-seven percent of U.S. adults had an industry certification, a license or a postsecondary certificate in 2016, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. This includes 18 percent with a license, 6 percent with a certification and 8 percent with a postsecondary certificate (some people had more than one non-degree credential). more....

ACTE Endorses Bipartisan Middle School CTE Bill

Senators Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) recently introduced the bipartisan Middle School Technical Education Program Act (Middle STEP ACT). The bill, which Sen. Kaine has previously introduced in the 2014 and 2015 sessions of Congress, would focus on career exploration for middle school students through CTE programs. The bill would establish a pilot program where postsecondary institutions, local businesses, and middle schools partner to develop and offer CTE exploration programs.
